Default Picking a second class for a Necromancer

I've played Ranger for the past couple of characters and by post-searing I get tired.

I started again as a Necromancer and I rather like it so far but I'm not sure what to take as a second class.

I was going to pick Ranger just as a method of attacking without magic. But I was also considering Elementalist.

Any tips?

You should state your goals of the character first so people can help you better. Warning though, if you're going to PvP I'd reccomend against necro primary because Soul Reaping is definitely not worth it.

I'm playing PvE and I don't really have a set goal. Just killing stuff I guess.

I'm having a great time with a Monk secondary to my Necro primary. Lots of options if you want to heal or smite or curse or whatever. Currently I am doing Blood Magic, Soul Reaping, and Smiting Prayers. I can do a whole lot of damage and keep me alive at the same time!

I just got to Lion's Arch and am having a great time with my axe wielding N/W with strong focuses on blood magic and axe mastery(until I find a good sword ) Just a word of advice.... frenzy(the one that increases the damage you take) definitely not the way to go.

Default Necro/Ele for me

I have been playing Necro/Ele for a while, and simply LOVE it! I am so good at nuking enemies to death with my fire magic and reducing them with the powerful blood magic. Please pm me back and tell me if you choose Necro/Ele because I love meeting another char of my professions!

Sufficient energy boost in King of the Hill maps while you control the middle not worth it?!

I ended up going N/E and I am enjoying it so far. I barely take any damage because I can cast the siphoning spell on everyone and they're all dead before it wears off.

So far so good.

Default Necro/Ele buddy!

I am also a necro/ele and I really want to know where good usable skills are so if you know of any good damage dealing ones, please pm me. (for elementalist I am looking for fire skills, and necro for blood magic ones, but please tell me of any that do GREAT damage!)
